As the fashion industry shifted and evolved, the beloved retail store “Paris” struggled to keep pace with the changing social landscape and the shifting perceptions of what it means to be a woman. Like so many other brands at the time, Paris had become entrenched in a narrative of perfection, with models and celebrities taking center stage.
